In 1991, BHI teamed up with the nationally renowned School of Hospitality Management at Florida International University to provide two-year scholarship awards to upper division (Junior and Senior) students with solid academic credentials and strong Visitor Industry work experience. In 2001, BHI initiated a new program to award scholarships to tourism/hospitality management students attending Miami Dade College. Scholarship awards generally include tuition, books and academic advisement. BHI students are required to complete a mandatory internship with a local tourism employer and to work in the Visitor Industry while pursing their college degree. Corporate partners in the Hospitality Industry fund BHI scholarships.
