Education and Training

Hospitality & Tourism Talent Development Initiative (HTTDI) is a training program incorporating the principles of the START (Skills, Tasks, and Results Training) curriculum established by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.  HTTDI designed to target South Florida high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate interest in the Hospitality Industry or any of its related fields (i.e. Hotel Management /Ownership, Food Service Management, Restaurant Management/Ownership and Entrepreneurial Training). Quarterly training will be conducted annually and Job Placement and Business Plan Development will follow the training sessions after competencies have been measured.

Black Hospitality Initiative partners with Big Brothers & Big Sisters – School to Work Program
The School to Work Program objective addresses the crisis that exists for at-risk high school students in South Florida as they make the transition from school to full-time employment. School to Work prepares students for the world of work by matching them with mentors who can expose them to workplace practices, career paths, and office technologies, ultimately providing support and motivation as these students strive to improve their academic and social performance.  Black Hospitality Initiative hospitality work partners include the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay and Hilton Bentley Miami.
